Known as the "Sellsword Winblades" by many, these blades make for a top-tier PvE choice and a great PvP option. The moveset for the Sellsword Twinblades emphasizes multi attacks that punish greedy players and those that time their dodges poorly. The weapon art is great at zoning as well, although be prepared for greatswords to retaliate during the animation. As with most dexterity builds, 60 dexterity and a sharp infusion isthe build of choicehere. Pontiff's Eye rings are also a great choice for this build since these weapons attack so quickly. You could do either a bleed build or a buff build.
For bleed, blood infusion, 40/40 dex/luck, be fully hollow and have your offhand infused with hollow. Infuse with sharp gem, and use darkmoon or lightning blade for a faith buff, and crystal magic weapon for int. Good rings are pontiffs right eye, knightslayer , and the other two are up to you. Gotthard twinswords are also a good weapon to use, although I wouldn't try a bleed build with it. The "Sellsword Winblades' are mentioned once again for their incredible damage output in PvE content.
Same as in PvP, players will want to invest heavily in dexterity and infuse the Sellsword Twinblades with sharp. These weapons deal some of the highest damage per second out of every weapon in the game for PvE content, and they have an incredibly strong moveset to boot. Better yet, they can be buffed with Carthus Rouge or any element to further enhance their slaying potential. There simply isn't a better PvE dexterity build and weapon combo.
It doesn't get hit as hard by the dexterity soft cap as most weapons do, which makes it a great choice for dexterity builds. Alternatively, players can sacrifice some dexterity and place it into luck, infusing the blades with hollow to make a bleed build instead. Dexterity builds with 60 or more in the stat typically deal more damage in PvE, however.
Part rapier and part claw, the Crow Quills are devastating weapons that have an S scaling in dexterity when infused with sharp. These weapons have a solid moveset that can prod attacks from opponents and heavily punish with its quill projectiles or ability to chain attacks into each other. Sunlight Spear is one of the bread and butter spells of miracle builds in Dark Souls 3. It has the highest potential damage output of any spell in the game, as well as dealing double lightning damage if you strike an enemy within melee range. If you time your uses right, this spell combined with this build is going to completely shred through most regular enemies in the game. Its damage output is certainly lacking for every other build type in the game, but the utility this weapon brings is hard to beat.
Those who can best these bosses are rewarded with a boss soul, allowing players to transpose the soul into a boss weapon. While not all boss weapons are exceptional, each weapon's unique traits and base stats should be considered by every Dark Souls player. This guide has been updated to include weapons stats for each entry, discussing a weapon's damage output, which boss the weapon is tied to, and any unique traits that item possesses. The Astora Greatsword is a strength weapon disguised as a dex weapon. The build to use this weapon isn't complicated just infuse with sharp and level-up dexterity.
Even if you want to use this weapon for a different build such as an intelligence build go ahead and do so. It can and should be buff with magic or an item before battle. Twin weapons' L1 attack hit twice, therefore applying twice the damage buff . Add in the fact that twin sellsword is gotten early, has very high native damage on sharp infusion making it the a choice weapon for boss fight. PvE they destroy, but the moveset and range are too short on the sellsword twinblades.
Noob friendly is a straight sword like the long sword or lothric knight straight sword. An Attack Rating of 210 with a D scaling in Strength and a C scaling in Dexterity is frankly terrible. Scaling this weapon's damage output is rather difficult, even when accounting for the weapon's mobile moveset. The shield isn't good either, only able to absorb 60% of physical damage and 30-40% of elemental damage. It has some use breaking shield guards thanks to the weapon art's excellent stamina damage, yet most players will be better off using a bleed-infused dagger to pressure a turtling player. Spells cast from the Cleric Candlestick scale from the player's faith stat instead of intelligence.
Strangely, the weapon scales its magic damage from intelligence and not faith. Since faith scales the player's spells, the fact it doesn't influence this weapon's damage is unfortunate. It doesn't end there; this weapon deals a pitiful amount of damage when it's upgraded. Not even its weapon art can save the Cleric Candlestick. The Sellsword Twinblades are amazing dual weapons that the player can use from the start of the game. It has incredible damage output and an amazing weapon art.
This damage comes from its combos and ability to get in numerous hits at once. The weapon art and damage output allow the player to quickly cripple and take out some bosses. In PVP the goal should be to get close and fire off the weapon art. I had a blast doing a dex faith buff build with twinblades. Sacred oath, lighting blade, pontiff eye ring , old wolf sword on back.
I jokingly called it the butter build bc it melted enemies like butter. Also the color of lightning blade reminded me of butter lmao. I suggest having the grasscrest shield in your off hand for better stamina regen. RoF, prisoners chain, ring of life, and the eyes are good rings.
As a curved greatsword, the Murakumo has a great mix of diagonal sweeps and roll-catching attacks that will keep any opponent on their toes. Mix the Murakumo's main attacks with its spinning weapon art for a fun time. Nearly every build inDark Souls 3 can turn the Astora Greatsword into a powerhouse thanks to its ultralight weight and great scaling. When sharpened, this sword grants +2 Attack Rating when past the soft cap of 40 dexterity, meaning this weapon hits like a truck when used alongside a dexterity build. It has a great mix of thrusts and slash attacks for PvP as well.
Few weapons can round off a dexterity build for PvP as well as the Astora Greatsword. Excluding the frankly terrible Dancer's Enchanted Swords, virtually every curved sword inDark Souls 3will serve as a solid weapon for PvP fights. Every curved sword has a good moveset, at least a C scaling in dexterity when upgraded, and a deceptively large amount of range. The Lothric Knight Sword is a safer and more convenient option for mercenary builds. It's still capable of very high damage outputs but plays far more down to earth then the stylish dual-wielding of the Twin blades.
Plus, you get the option of using a shield with it. It has attack patterns that are easy to remember, as well as good swing speed. Combined with its scaling with dexterity, and it makes it the perfect foundational weapon for a mercenary build.
Players must deal with a blade that has not one or two damage types but three. This alone makes it a nightmare to use since resistances vary so wildly in PvE and PvP, but it gets worse. A D scaling in every stat, even at +5, prevents quality or hybrid builds from making these blades truly shine. They have quite a unique and fun moveset, yet the weapon's split damage seriously harms its effectiveness. Anyone that wishes to slash their way to victory is better off with the Sellsword Twinblades instead. Transposed from the Soul of the Demon Prince, the Demon's Scar is a curved sword made of pure flame.
This weapon only deals fire damage, although it scales with three stats instead of just one. To make up for this stat split, the Demon's Scar behaves similarly to a Pyromancy Flame, capable of casting pyromancies with its heavy attack. The Pontiff ring can be switched out if you need/want something else. I really like the prisoner's chain for a lot of builds as the extra health, stamina, and equip load are all really useful. Chloranthy ring is just a really good choice for the playstyle. Ring if favor is good for the same reason's as the prisoner's chain.
Overall the build gives some good health and stamina to play around with so that you can get a lot of hits off and survive a mistimed dodge. I carry a lot of resins and bundles to buff against bosses to just tear into them. So far I haven't really had any issues with the build and I pretty much just have the DLC bosses and Lord of Cinder left. I'm currently on my first play through of dark souls 3 and I'm using the sellsword twinblades. I really like them and have had no issues so far and just killed the Abyss Watcher.
I just want to make sure I'm leveling up my stuff correctly. Could someone tell me the numbers I'm trying to get to for everything regarding leveling for dex, vigor, endurance etc. I just wanna make sure I build it as good as possible. Obtaining 30 Wolf's Blood Swordgrass can seem excessive for a mere shield, but the Wolf Knight's Greatshield is no ordinary shield.
It passively increases the resistances of all status effects by 50, grants complete physical damage defense, and can use another weapon's Weapon Art in place of its own. This means players with a sword in their right hand can use its weapon art instead of parrying hits as most shields do. It offers a unique playstyle that is incredibly powerful in the right hands.
Any katana is good in PvP and boils down to preference. For those looking for range, use the Washing Pole and run over 60 dexterity alongside high endurance. Never underestimate the effectiveness of katanas in PvP. The Life Ring is the best starting Burial gift in Dark Souls 3.
When you start in Dark Souls 3 you don't have a lot of health and that bit extra health would help you in many scenarios you can think of. When starting in Dark souls 3 you will be given the decision on what burial gift to have for the rest of the game, so make sure you choose correctly with the choices given to you. This is going to be our go-to weapon buff, for obvious reasons. Our high faith skill along with the amount of spell damage buffs we have means that lightning blade is going to be adding upwards of 300 damage to our weapons every time we buff them.
That being said, the early game boost to the various stats make certain classes lean towards some builds more than others. For mercenaries, this is going to be dexterity, obviously. However, that's not the only way you can build one.
In particular, new players are better off going for a quality build, which levels dexterity and strength equally. Mercenaries have the highest dexterity out of all the starting classes. This lets it appeal to fans of perfect optimization builds as it allows you to build a dexterity character that out scales all of the other classes. As well as that, given that quality builds are the most recommended for new players, the mercenary is a perfect choice for your first playthrough. Problem is that you get this weapon after you are accustomed to another weapon. I capped strength at 24 only because to get some of the boss soul exchange curved swords you a higher strength stat.
With this build you will not feel powerless at any point of your playtrough. Relies both on heavy melee damage, heavy miracle damage, heals, buffs and Tears of Denial, which will render you immortal. You really can defeat all bosses with standart weapon and clothes.
Just upgrade sword meanwhile and all will be good. Builds listed in this page are created and categorized by players, therefore you should not assume they are all optimized. Fun cosplay build focusing on the Pyromancy form of the Soul of Cinder. Level 90 allows for standard quality stat allocation.
Self buff on the Firelink Greatsword is really great, coupled with Power Within you will be pushing attack rating. Unless you get a friend to drop you the armor and weapon, using a Claymore for the game is fine. Toward the end of your time in Undead Settlement you will be given a Irithyll Straight Sword after killing an Outrider Knight. This weapon is very powerful, is similar to the Long Sword, and can last you the entire game if you enjoy the quick attacks of straight swords. It has a frostbite attribute, which slows stamina regeneration for foes, as well as high damage scaling on each upgrade. The only problem with it is that it requires Twinkling Titanite to upgrade, which is a rare upgrade item.
Even then, it'll scale to 200+ damage quicker than your Broadsword, and its frostbite attribute is a neat perk. If you prefer heavier-hitting weapons, then you'll want to pick up the Claymore found at the fire-breathing dragon in High Wall of Lothric. This is a light-weight greatsword that can be used effectively both in one-hand and two-handed combat. You may also want to consider the Uchigatana, which is a parry style weapon that has become one of the game's most popular choices. For pure Strength builds, the Butcher's Knife is a solid choice that has a weapon skill capable of healing you as you kill enemies. If you like axes, then the Deep Battle Axe is effective for most of the game, while Arstor's Spear is a favorite among spear fans.
After fighting this late-game boss twice, players can take both blades to Ludleth and have him combine the two into this deadly weapon. While it only has a D scaling in its stats, this weapon scales from Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Faith. Hybrid builds that scale Intelligence and Faith as much as Strength can output a surprising amount of damage with this greatsword. The player needs 11 in strength and 18 in dexterity to use this weapon. Stand is the weapon art where the player holds the sword up in the air then attacks in a strange arc.
While no longer the king of dexterity builds after patches the Crow Quills is still an amazing pick. Despite being patched it is still a strong weapon. Speed, armor, a unique move set this weapon has a lot going for it.
It supports an aggressive playstyle with the player assaulting their opponent. As long as you aren't reckless there is a good chance at success. Its weakest aspects are that it is weak against skilled parries but who isn't and the reduced damage it has after the patch. Dexterity builds are some of the prominent, popular, and effective builds in Dark Souls 3. Along with strength, dex builds offer the most variety and options in the game.
